Redwood Agency’s mission
is to develop and represent innovative, high-quality nonfiction works for the
general consumer market. Whether you are
a published author, an aspiring writer, or an organization looking to establish
a publishing presence, Redwood will work with you to create a marketable
proposal and to sell your project to the best possible publisher. Representing

It is our goal to keep clients' interests a priority while securing fair compensation and contract terms. In our first two years selling projects, we have made noteworthy sales to a number of major publishers including Simon & Schuster, Bantam Dell, William Morrow & Co., HarperCollins, Perigee (The Penguin Group), Hyperion Books, Rodale Books, Marlowe & Co., Jossey Bass (part of John Wiley), Sourcebooks and Adams Media. Redwood Agency conducts
its own business and all business on behalf of clients in an honest and
up-front manner according to the following:
1.
We offer a fair and reasonable Author/Agent Agreement.
2.
We do not charge for reading, review and consideration
of works. (We do require return postage for return of submitted materials when
return is requested by authors.)
3.
We are committed to keeping our clients
informed about selling activity, publisher communication, and other pertinent
matters related to their work.
4.
We maintain a separate bank accounts for
client income and promptly pay any amounts due clients following clearance of
payments received on clients’ behalf as specified in our Agreement. We may deduct certain specified and
reasonable charges (e.g. copying and delivery charges) as specified in our
Author/Agency Agreement.
5.
We treat our clients’ financial information
as confidential and will not release such information to any third party
(except as may be required by law) without prior permission from the client.
6.
Redwood Agency adheres to the Association of
Authors’ Representatives, Inc. Canon of Ethics, although not currently a member
of that organization.
