Author/Agent Agreement Information

Redwood Agency enters into an agreement with its authors and clients that clearly spells out the responsibilities of the author or client and the Agency. As with any business relationship, we feel that from the start it is to everyone’s advantage to understand the agent’s responsibilities, as well as their own. Our agreement covers the following key points:

The Work or Works the Agent agrees to represent.
Territories and rights covered.
Redwood Agency’s commission and payment terms.
Term and termination.
Statements.
Expenses.
Approvals.
Assignment.
General business procedures and communication standards.

If a Work is placed with a publisher, the publisher then issues its own contract covering the acquisition terms, which Redwood Agency will negotiate with author approval, and which the author will sign.
